Jiquilisco Bay Tour Description
Located in the Usulutan department, 110 km from San Salvador, La Bahía de Jiquilísco is El Salvador’s largest mangrove area, habitat, more than 450 resident and migratory species of birds, four of the seven species of turtles exist on the planet, reproduce there, has a variety of iguanas and marine fauna that are part of the biodiversity of the place.
One of the islands of the bay is the famous island La Pirraya, where some of its fishermen reached world fame when in September 2011 they reached the 4th World Beach Soccer. Another of the islands in the area is the Espiritu Santo, known as the island of coconuts, for the numerous plantations of palm trees and factory of its products, but the bay of Jiquilísco also offers the beauty of the Chaguantique Forest lenca for the place of beautiful springs), sanctuary of the spider monkey.
We will start our boat trip by moving through the channels of the coastal marine forest, where you can appreciate more than 54 species of birds, some residents and migratory, and we will cross Puerto Barillas where docked boats from different parts of the world, a graveyard of ships that transforms into the perfect setting for taking pictures.
We will have the opportunity to interact with the local fishermen, we will know some islands like La Pirraya, Madresal, La Chepona and we will disembark in the island Pajarito. We will visit Punta San Juan beach (Desierto beach), with magical landscapes of the central volcanic mountain range of the country that will captivate you.
