If you love nature and eco-adventure El Imposible National Park is your best option. El Salvador’s largest national park is a nature reserve made up of dry tropical forest, constantly threatened by predators.
Source of life and water for humans and species inhabiting the area, 3800 hectares of forest, is the last and most important refuge, in this national park inhabit more than 500 species of plants, 100 species of mammals, 53 amphibians and reptiles, 285 species of birds and over 5000 species of butterflies. El Imposible National Park offers you simple interpretive walks that show you step by step the biodiversity and natural resources that the forest possesses within that eco system in a quiet and without so much effort. But it is also optimal to develop extreme walks, between slopes and slopes, rocks and precipices, rivers, flat sections, hollows and plains, under the shadow of the forest for a while and then in an arid environment.
Some of the important points inside the park, you cannot miss. Is first view point El Mulo, From here you can have an impressive panorama of the national park. You will only see 35% of the forest, but the view will take your breath away. The second option visit and swim in Los Enganches river, a natural and crystalline source of fresh mountain water. The water from this river reaches the ocean where they feed another salt forest natural reserve, known as La Barra de Santiago.

El Imposible National Park
After 2.30 hours of travel, arrival at El Imposible National Park. We will visit the interpretation center to understand about the park’s ecosystem. We will meet with our local guide who will accompany us on the tour. We will begin our walk along an interpretive path, knowing part of the important fauna and flora of the site.

El Mulo View Point
Arrival at the El Mulo viewpoint, from here you will have one of the most beautiful landscapes of the forest, you will have only 35% of the national park before your eyes. But even so the landscape is overwhelming. We will begin our trek to the Aguachapío river.

Aguachapío River
After a walk through the forest, we reach the Aguachapio River, in the river we will visit the area known as Los Enganches, where a natural pool has been formed. The ideal space to have your lunch, and enjoy a refreshing dip in the heart of El Imposible National Park

Back to entrance
We will begin our walk back to the entrance of the national park, an approximate walk of 1.30 hours

Return to San Salvador City
We start our return to your lodging hotel in San Salvador, an approximate ride of 2 hours and a half. Approximate time of arrival 05.30 pm to 06.00 pm. End of our services.
Important Notes:
There is no restaurant in the national park, so we recommend bringing a prepared lunch. We can make a stop along the way to buy something.
Do not forget to bring your insect repellent and your swimsuit to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the river.
