For 196 years the volcano of Izalco erupted continuously, so much that its flames could be observed from the ocean, this gave rise to that it was popularly known with the nickname of “Lighthouse of the Pacific”.
Its volcanic activity was such that a cone of 1,952 masl was formed. Now you have the opportunity to conquer it and get to its crater.
We will begin our journey from the National Park Complex Los Volcanes, in El Cerro Verde, where we will make a tranquilisation through nebulous forest that surrounds the crater of this extinct volcano, from where we will have breathtaking views of the beautiful Lake of Coatepeque, and of the imposing volcano of Santa Ana.
We will continue with our tour and at 11:00 am we will begin our journey to the youngest volcano in El Salvador and one of the youngest in the continent
