The Montecristo National Park is located in the municipality of Metapán, department of Santa Ana, 117 km (72 miles) from San Salvador, in the place known as the trifinio, where the borders of three countries converge, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salavador, also in that place is the second highest point of El Salvador at 2400 masl (7874.
