Description Mayan Route Layover Tour El Salvador

If you have a layover in El Salvador, don’t stay at the airport. Discover two of the most important archeological sites in El Salvador. Joya de Ceren is considered the Pompeii of America. The only place in the entire Mayan world where you can observe the architecture, the way of life and food of a Mayan agricultural community that was buried under the eruption of a volcano. I keep this almost intact for more than 1400 years. The second archeological site we will visit is San Andres. A political and ceremonial center used between 600 to 900 A.D. Here we will have access to the acropolis, a space reserved for leaders. This has left an interesting complex of pyramids, skulls, ceramics, and an interesting indigo factory from the colonial period. Two different scenarios of the Mayan world, in one the way of life of the Mayan elite and in the other the way of life of ordinary people. Dare to discover this during your layover
